Flamingos at the Grevelingen

We got out and drove to the Grevelingendam and spotted the Flamingos before they left again. Lovely weather, 16 degrees!

This Kingfisher came to catch a few fish from the pond at 10 to half past four. At this time it is already quite dark, but even with these high ISO values it is still a feast to watch.
Bempton Cliffs

Bempton Cliffs, on the spectacular Yorkshire coast, is home to one of the UK's top wildlife spectacles. Around half a million seabirds gather here between March and August to raise a family on the towering chalk cliffs that overlook the North Sea.
The huge white chalk cliffs at Bempton are impressive at any time of year. But visit between April and July, and you'll find them transformed into England's largest seabird city. Here Puffins, Gannets, Kittiwakes and Guillemots live life on the edge. There are more Gannets acrobatically diving into the deep here than anywhere else on mainland England.

The Grevelingen is a nice area where you can photograph to your heart's content. A day with Jan Baks, nature photographer on our island, gave surprising images.

Macro
Wat in het groot geldt, is ook in het klein waar. Hoe dicht bij je ook komt er blijven zich nieuwe details ontvouwen, wat tot een abstracte foto kan leiden.
Bloemen
Gewone smeerwortel - Symphytum officinale: deze wilde plant staat al zo lang ik mij kan heugen (57 jaar) aan de kant van onze sloot. toen ik klein was plukte we de bloemen en zogen de honing er uit. Blijkbaar heeft hij het hier erg naar zijn zin.

Landschapsfotografie heeft een mystieke kant, na een koude nacht met mist 's-morgens vroeg over het land of de schijnbaar onbegrensde ruimte van de zee of het polderlandschap. Zelfs een maanlandschap ....
