Laptop
In 2016, I purchased the ASUS Zenbook Pro UX501VW, a very powerful laptop at the time with an Intel i7 CPU and an NVIDIA RTX960M GPU. This device has worked without problems for almost nine years. I now use Topaz AI Denoise, software that places considerable demands on the hardware. That is why I decided to upgrade to the ASUS ProArt P16.
Thanks to this new machine, the processing time in Topaz has been significantly reduced, from several minutes to just a few seconds per photo (mostly Canon RAW files CR3). We hope that this system will serve us excellently for a long time to come.
Photo editing (Affinity Photo)
I shoot in camera raw (CR3 for my Canon) and edit this in Affinity's Raw Editor. Sometimes with higher ISO values I first use Topaz Denoise AI, which exports in the DNG format.
The output profile defaults to ROMM RGB. All editing is done internally in this color space.
For printing, it is exported to AdobeRGB profile in tiff format.
For all other applications, the sRGB profile is used to export in the jpeg format. (web, socials, etc.)
Print (Canon PRO-300)
The Canon PRO-300 comes standard with Professional Print & Layout software. This is used and not the print functionality of Affinity.
Color profiles for this printer are made available by the paper manufacturers.
The results are astonishingly good and almost identical to the image on the screen during soft proofing. With softproofing, the light in the office is moderated with the monitor at 80cd and a maximum contrast of 1:220.
